What Gamers Say About ArcaLoot

What Gamers Say About ArcaLoot

G'day everyone. Welcome back to the Loot Lounge. So here's how this one started. Last Sunday arvo, Jenny was out the back watering the garden and I was meant to be doing the bookkeeping. Instead I had the reviews pages open across all the products, mousepads, sleeves, the lot, just scrolling. One after another. The boys in the Discord had been giving me grief about never reading my own reviews, joking about how I was too in the weeds with shipping labels and managing ArcaLoot's day-to-day to actually look at what people write about our gear. So I sat down with a cuppa and read every single one. One Thousand, five hundred and fifty-plus of them. And I'll be honest with you, I got a bit emotional. You lot are something else.

People From Everywhere

The first thing that genuinely floored me was the map. We're a small operation runnning out of NSW, me and Jenny, plus a printer and a stack of boxes in the shed. And the reviews come from Romania, New Zealand, the UK, the US, Germany, Slovenia, Canada, Belgium, France, Sweden, Ireland, Norway, the Netherlands, Portugal, Croatia, Denmark, Austria, Finland, Czechia. That's not a customer base, that's a bloody world tour.

Gheorghiu D. over in Romania left a review on the Cracked pad that I've read about four times now: "Firstly, the mouse pad is so clean and so good looking and also such a good quality. Secondly, I had a problem with the delivery and they helped me with all their strength, so I highly recommend to buy their products." That second sentence matters more to me than the first. He had a delivery issue and we sorted it. That's the whole job, really, make a beautiful thing and don't muck people around when something goes sideways.

And Lee R. in the United Kingdom, on the same pad: "this is legit the best thing in my setup its just so good i honestly couldn't recommend it more get a mouse pad from here if your looking for one."  I still can't quite get my head around how much you all love out product and it is so beautiful to read.

The Glide Is The Thing

If there's one word that shows up in these reviews more than any other, it's "smooth." Hundreds of times. People switch off glass pads, off Artisan pads, off Razer and SteelSeries, and they keep landing on the same word.

Ryan in the US went from glass to our Cracked and wrote: "Going from a glass mouse pad to this feels so much smoother." Jacob on the Shadowbound Fury — Jenny's Solo Leveling-vibes design, the one she drew after a big anime binge, said it plain: "Great mousepad. The same if not better than an Artisan, for half of the price. The artwork is phenomenal as well, if just the quality was enough to sway you." I read that one out to Jenny and she just grinned. We priced these to be reachable, not to be cheap. Hearing it put like that is the whole point.

Then there's the competitive lot. Otter in the States dropped this on Cracked: "The mousepad is so smooth and soft but firm at the same time, made my aim much smoother and has me hitting much more shots, got me qualed to div 1 bc it's much easier to aim and flick faster." Qualified to Division One. On our pad. Sona wrote on Eternal Harmony: "i also qualified for my first set lobby finals on this mousepad." And J.R., who got their Rippled Tranquillity the morning of a solo cash cup: "I could immediately tell the difference my (Fortnite Build) edits were smoother and my aim was sharper I ended up in the top 500." Top 500 in a cash cup, day one on the pad. I'm not going to pretend that doesn't make me a bit proud.

What I keep noticing is that people don't just say "smooth." They say smooth and controlled. nick in the US, on the koi fish Eternal Harmony: "the glide on it is better than a glass mousepad. I would 100 percent recommend the medium size if you are a competitive gamer for fortnite. much love aussie!" Much love back, mate. That's exactly what we tuned the surface to do — fast enough to flick, with enough stop to track. Jenny picks the art, but the glide is the bit I lose sleep over.

The Sleeves Have Their Own Stories

I wasn't sure what to expect when we launched the gaming sleeves. Mousepads, I get... that's my baby. The sleeves were Jenny's idea and I wasn't convinced people would care enough to review a bit of fabric on your arm. I was wrong about that too.

The one that stopped me in my tracks came from a reviewer in Ireland. No name attached, just the review, and it's the most detailed piece of feedback we've ever received on any product: "Sleeve categorically improves tracking. The first thing I did was test the sleeve within Aimlabs to see if it helped, and my second run (target switching) beat my PR, it was instantly more consistent! The next day I beat my PR on reactive tracking, so without a doubt the sleeve DOES make aiming, especially around tracking, much smoother and consistent than bare arm or wearing a hoody. Artwork looks sick, doesn't look nerdy just looks like a arm tattoo sleeve. Excellent work Arca team!"

That's someone who bought a thirty dollar sleeve and immediately ran controlled tests in Aimlabs to see if it actually worked. And it did. They beat their personal records on two different tracking exercises within two days. I read that one three times. This is exactly what I was talking about in the sleeves blog — it's not placebo, it's friction consistency. Your arm moves the same way every time because the sleeve gives you the same surface every time. This bloke proved it with data.

Blest in Australia left the first review on the Cracked sleeve and it made Jenny's day: "This is my first ever time trying gaming sleeves, and im not disappointed!! The sleeves fit snugly but are not too tight, keeping your arm comfortable through-out the game. The designs are amazing of course!! Good quality with a nice and neat finish!! Thanku again Arcaloot for another great product!!" First time trying a sleeve. Not disappointed. That's the whole goal right there.

And Rok Z. in Slovenia, one of the countries I didn't even know we shipped to until the order came through, wrote on the Rippled Tranquillity sleeve: "Mouse pad smooth as clouds even better with the arcaloot arm sleeve. Must buy for competitive games. Also looks crazy clean :)" He bought the pad, bought the sleeve, and is telling people they work together. That's the ecosystem I always hoped we'd build. The pad and the sleeve aren't separate products, they're a system.

The Art Is Jenny's Heart

Here's where I get properly soppy. The designs on every one of these pads are hand-drawn by Jenny. No AI. No stock art. She sketches the linework, refines it, and we print it. So when someone writes about the art, they're writing about her.

Misty R. in the US got the Crimson Shadow, the ninja one and wrote something I had to read twice: "I can tell that the artist put her heart and soul into it." She doesn't know Jenny. She's never met her. But she could feel it through a printed mousepad shipped across the Pacific. That wrecked me a little, in the best way.

buf, who's now collected a few of our pads, said on Cracked: "Just when I thought the art couldn't get any better, the cracked mousepad came out. This is absolute peak and I don't feel as if I have to explain any more." And TJ P. on Rippled Tranquillity made the comparison I most wanted to hear: "The designs are great and hand drawn, while a lot of cheap pads use ai art." People can tell. That's the whole thing, people can actually tell.

The one that stays with me, though, is Kristen A. in the US, who bought the Black Abyss for her partner. It has these little hearts in the corner, a tiny detail Jenny added. Kristen wrote: "He told me every time he looks at the hearts, he thinks of me and smiles." I showed Jenny that one. She didn't say anything, just squeezed my arm. A drawing on a mousepad, and someone's thinking of the person who gave it to them every time they sit down to play. That's more than I ever expected this little business to do.

It Actually Repels Water

We make a big deal about the hydrophobic coating, and I'm always a bit nervous about claiming things because I don't want to oversell. But the reviews back it up, over and over. Cody L. in the UK on Eternal Harmony: "The hydrophobic coating has saved me twice already!" Lewis on Crimson Shadow, with possibly my favourite review of the lot: "I also spilt ketchup all over it yesterday and came off with no stains." Ketchup. On a ninja design. Gone.

Michael O. spilt liquid "multiple times" and it slid right off. Zaid N. called himself a clumsy person who spills water a lot and said the coating "completely eliminated that worry." Jordan Q. in Australia put a coffee cup down on Sapphire Summits, left a ring, and it "wiped right off with water, now that was impressive!" That's the coating doing its job exactly the way we tested it.

Better Than The Big Brands

This is the claim I keep reading that I have to keep pinching myself over. T in the UK, on Rippled Tranquillity: "i've used the big named companies ones that everyone and their mothers swear by, Razer, Steelseries and so many more and they've always been lacklustre in one or multiple areas whereas i genuinely believe ArcaLoot delivers on all levels, Quality, Thickness and most definitely design."

Mohammed A. also from UK, also Crimson Shadow, said it even more directly: "cant believe a small Australia run family business is better than actual gaming company's." A bloke in the UK reckons a two-person operation from a south coast shed is beating actual gaming companies. I don't know how to respond to that except thank you.

The Service Bit

This comes up a lot and it's the part that's just me and Jenny and the inbox. Spencer on Eternal Harmony: "Great company and communication and an amazing experience overall." Ryan M. on the same pad: "overall amazing quality/feel and great customer service." When someone emails us, one of us answers. Usually me, late at night, with the dog under the desk. That's not a feature, it's just how a two-person business works, and I think people can feel the difference.

Thank You, So Much!

I started ArcaLoot because I wanted a mousepad that didn't exist yet — one with real art, a proper glide, and a coating that survives a spilled cuppa. Jenny drew the first designs. We printed them. We shipped them. And now there are people in thirty-odd countries with our pads on their desks, qualifying for cash cups, telling their mates in Discord, giving them to their kids for Christmas and their partners for birthdays.

Every review I read, good or nitpicky, tells me something. The praise tells me what to keep. And the ones where someone says "I'll never buy another brand" — those are the ones that make me want to keep going on the nights it's just me, a label printer, and the dog/cats.

So thank you. To Severo and Gheorghiu and Ryan and luka and Lee. To Otter and buf and Sona and J.R. To Misty and Kristen and T and Mohammed. To Blest and Rok Z. and our Irish Aimlabs tester, and every single one of you who took five minutes after unboxing to write a few lines. You didn't have to, and you did, and it matters more than you know.

Here's what I want to ask you lot: if you've got an ArcaLoot pad on your desk right now, drop a review if you haven't yet. Tell us what works, tell us what doesn't, tell us what Jenny should draw next. The Loot Lounge is always open and the next design is only as good as what you tell us you want.

Cheers from Loot Lounge. Jenny says g'day too.
